Get involved

Be part of a cleaner El Salvador.

CLEAN El Salvador is built around the idea that lasting environmental change requires participation from across the community.

Schools can help educate the next generation. Families can reinforce responsible habits at home. Businesses can provide resources and financial support. Volunteers can help bring programs and community activities to life. Municipalities and local organizations can connect CLEAN El Salvador with the communities that need it most.

There is no single way to get involved.

What matters is creating a growing network of people and organizations who believe that cleaner communities start with the next generation and are willing to help turn that belief into action.

How you can help

There is a role for everyone.

CLEAN El Salvador is designed to grow through collaboration.

Some people may contribute their time. Others may provide funding, resources, expertise, transportation, equipment, or access to schools and communities. Businesses may choose to sponsor a program. Teachers may invite CLEAN into their classrooms. Families may participate in community activities. Municipalities may help identify areas where programming can make a meaningful difference.

Each contribution helps expand what CLEAN El Salvador can do and how many children and communities we can reach.

Schools & educators

Bring CLEAN El Salvador into your school.

Schools are at the centre of the CLEAN El Salvador model because they provide one of the best environments for introducing long-term habits.

Our goal is to work with schools in a practical and flexible way, creating programming that fits the age of the students, the needs of the school, and the community around it.

Schools may participate through educational workshops, classroom activities, cleanup days, recycling initiatives, environmental challenges, school-wide events or community projects.

As the program grows, we also want to build longer-term relationships with participating schools so students can experience CLEAN El Salvador more than once and continue developing their environmental knowledge and leadership over time.

Schools can participate by:

  • Hosting a CLEAN El Salvador educational session
  • Organizing a school cleanup day
  • Creating a recycling or waste-reduction initiative
  • Participating in a community or beach cleanup
  • Introducing student environmental challenges
  • Becoming part of a future CLEAN School program
  • Engaging parents and families in take-home activities
  • Supporting student environmental leadership

If you are a principal, teacher, school administrator or parent who would like to introduce CLEAN El Salvador to your school, we would like to hear from you.

Volunteers

Give your time to something that can grow.

Volunteers will play an important role in helping CLEAN El Salvador deliver programs and community activities.

Depending on the initiative, volunteers may help support school programs, organize cleanup events, prepare materials, coordinate participants, distribute supplies, assist with registration, document activities or help with community outreach.

As CLEAN El Salvador expands, there may also be opportunities for volunteers with professional experience in areas such as education, environmental science, logistics, event management, communications, photography, video, administration or community development.

You do not need to be an environmental expert to participate. You simply need to care about the mission and be willing to contribute.

  • School program support
  • Beach and community cleanups
  • Event setup and coordination
  • Recycling initiatives
  • Community outreach
  • Youth activities
  • Photography and video
  • Administrative assistance
  • Professional skills and expertise

Whether you can contribute to one event or become involved more regularly, your time can help us reach more young people and communities.

El Salvador is investing in its public spaces — new plazas, boardwalks, parks and transport. Keeping them clean is the part everyone can take part in.

Corporate partners

Help build environmental responsibility at scale.

Businesses have an opportunity to play a significant role in the growth of CLEAN El Salvador. Corporate support can help fund school programming, educational resources, cleanup equipment, transportation, community events, volunteer activities, communications, and the operational resources needed to expand the organization.

We want corporate partnerships to go beyond placing a logo on an event.

The strongest partnerships will connect companies directly with measurable community action and create opportunities for employees, customers and local communities to participate.

A company may choose to sponsor an individual school, support a community cleanup, fund educational materials, provide equipment, or become a larger ongoing program partner.

Corporate partners may support CLEAN El Salvador through:

  • Financial sponsorship
  • School program sponsorship
  • Community event sponsorship
  • Cleanup supplies and equipment
  • Transportation support
  • Recycling infrastructure
  • Employee volunteer programs
  • Educational materials
  • Professional services
  • Multi-year program partnerships

Partnership packages can be developed based on the size of the organization, level of involvement, and the communities or programs a company would like to support.

We also want partners to understand the impact of their contribution. As CLEAN El Salvador develops its reporting systems, participating companies will be able to see the programs, schools, students, activities and communities their support has helped make possible.

Sponsor a school or program

Help bring CLEAN directly to children.

One of the most direct ways businesses, organizations or individuals can support CLEAN El Salvador is by helping fund programming in a school or community.

A sponsorship can help cover the cost of educational materials, program delivery, cleanup supplies, transportation, staff coordination, volunteer support, communications and other resources required to deliver a meaningful program.

This gives supporters a clear connection between their contribution and the work taking place on the ground.

As CLEAN El Salvador grows, we intend to develop structured sponsorship opportunities that may include support for:

  • An individual classroom
  • A grade level
  • An entire school
  • A school environmental day
  • A beach or community cleanup
  • Educational materials
  • A recycling initiative
  • A youth leadership program
  • A community environmental campaign

Municipalities & community organizations

Local partnerships create local impact.

Every community has different environmental priorities.

Some areas may be dealing with litter in public spaces. Others may want to improve beach cleanliness, increase recycling awareness, engage local schools, or create more opportunities for residents to participate in community improvement.

CLEAN El Salvador wants to work collaboratively with municipalities, community groups, NGOs, tourism organizations, neighbourhood associations and local leaders to create programs that respond to those needs.

Municipalities and community partners can help identify priority locations, coordinate local participation, connect CLEAN with schools, provide logistical support, or help develop larger community initiatives.

The goal is not to arrive with a one-size-fits-all solution. It is to build programming that reflects the needs of the community while maintaining the CLEAN El Salvador focus on youth education and long-term behaviour change.

Families

The habits children learn at school become stronger at home.

Parents and families are an important part of CLEAN El Salvador because environmental education should not stop when a student leaves the classroom.

Families can reinforce the same ideas by creating simple habits at home, talking with children about waste and recycling, participating in community activities and leading by example.

A child who learns something through CLEAN El Salvador may come home and ask why the family does not recycle a particular material or why garbage is being handled a certain way.

Those conversations are valuable.

They create an opportunity for the entire household to become part of the learning process. Families can also participate in cleanup events, school activities, volunteer opportunities and future CLEAN community challenges.

Individual supporters

You do not need to represent an organization to make a difference.

Many people will simply want to support the mission because they believe in what CLEAN El Salvador is trying to accomplish.

Individuals can participate by volunteering, donating, sharing the initiative, attending events, connecting CLEAN with a school or business, or helping introduce the organization to a community that could benefit from the program.

Growth often happens because one person makes an introduction, volunteers at an event, shares an idea or helps open a door.

If you believe in the mission, there is a place for you.

Why your involvement matters

Every contribution helps expand the program.

CLEAN El Salvador is being built with the intention of creating a program that can eventually reach communities across the country. That requires more than a good idea.

It requires educational materials, staff, transportation, program coordination, supplies, technology, communication, volunteer management, partnerships and long-term planning. It also requires people who believe enough in the mission to participate.

  • Every business partnership helps fund the next program
  • Every donation allows us to invest in resources to serve more children
  • Every child who learns something new can influence the people around them

That is how the impact grows.
